Powerlink Electronics Ltd. was formed in 1990 to promote power control products. Powerlink specialises in thyristor control products. The main application of these products is for high power control applications.
The main applications for Powerlink's products are for induction heat treatment, printing dryers using infra-red or ultra-violet lamps for fast ink drying, car or van body dryers, commercial building heating control and under water surveying vehicle power supply systems.
Powerlink has strong manufacturing capability. Most of Powerlink's products have been developed for specific applications. Cost effective design with quality in mind is a major factor of Powerlink’s success.
Our aim is to achieve near zero failure return. Most of our customers are in the industrial sectors and they require the highest quality. For example, one of our customers who manufactures dryers for the printing industry requires less than 0.5% failure rate. Together with the customer, Powerlink worked out a quality procedure to achieve less than 0.1% failure rate.
Powerlink’s major customers can be separated into two groups; OEM and distributors.
Our major OEM customers (who allow us to publish their names) are;
Seaeye Marines Ltd. – manufacturer of under water surveying system.
UKAEA – Powerlink supply power control unit for lasers on the fusion machine, Compass and have supplied JET and the Mega Amp Spherical Tokamak (MAST) machine at Culham.
EFD Technology Ltd. – manufacturing induction heat treatment machines.
Stanelco RF Technologies Ltd. – manufacturing fibre optics machines.
